I have to admit, I've never really followed American Idol even back when I still had access to a television and my housemates Nald and Zenie were rooting for... I don't even remember who they were rooting for. It was that girl who lost to Taylor Hicks, I think.
I only started to get interested last year when I watched David Cook sing Music of the Night. After I saw that and his most popular performance on AI, Always Be My Baby, I started rooting for him. Sure enough, he won!
This year, although my friend Christina kept pushing me to watch AI, I only got to watch one early episode and never got around to following the series. Then I saw Kris Allen's performance of Heartless and I hearted him at that moment and became an AI contestant fan for the second time around. Once again, my "manok" won. Yippee! Now to watch out for his tracks on imeem as I did with David's.

I have a theory: American Idol is dominated by Southerners. and as we all know, Southerners aren't buying the whole 'sexuality/gay' thing...thats why KA won.

i also read somewhere that it could be religious belief-related. that Kris is religious and Adam is not. but whatever.. doesn't matter who wins now, it wouldn't determine their long term success.
