TGFI. Thank God For Internet - a collection of the best funny, entertaining and inspirational articles and videos I receive through email or find on the web.
GivesMeHope. Where people share with the world their most hopeful, uplifting moments and allow others to draw strength from their experiences - in 350 characters or less. It's like Chicken Soup for the Soul - the 21st Century, Twitter-style version. Warning: make sure you're not in the office or somewhere public when you visit this site as the entries can make you cry. I collated some of the best entries here and here. I like it best among others of its kind - FMyLife, MyLifeisG, and MyLifeisAverage.
MakesMeThink. It's like GivesMeHope but beyond uplifting moments, extending to all thought-provoking instances. I collated some of its best entries here.
Digg. A place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web. From the biggest online destinations to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on by the users.
CollegeHumor. The best humor site on the internet. Watch funny videos, funny pictures, read funny articles, jokes, and see original comedy videos. They produce originals but also have a collection of the latest viral videos which you can discover by sorting according to most viewed or liked. They have an account in YouTube too, but it only shows their originals and a month delayed.
Sidereel. Where you can watch TV online. It has an updated list of links to episodes of most TV shows. You can even create a profile and add TV shows to your playlist so that upon visiting the website, you'd be informed as to which of these shows have new episodes ready. This is where I had my weekly fix of Glee before it went on hiatus to make way for American Idol.
Mashable. Social Media news blog covering cool new websites and social networks: Facebook, Google, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube. Focusing on up-to-the-minute news on social networks and new websites, it rapidly grew to be one of the top 10 blogs in the world according to the blog ranking service Technorati.
Paolo Coelho. The author of that wonderful book, The Alchemist, has a blog where he writes deep and thought-provoking articles about dreams and life.
Chuvaness. A blog that contains all the news that's hip to print. One of the most popular blogs in the Philippines, it's a must follow for all Filipinos.
Tais-Toi. Former lawyer turned columnist for the Singaporean 8 Days magazine writes about his life with flatmates Saffy and Amanda and other Singaporean adventures. I discovered this when I first read his article about dating rules in a magazine. I love his funny writing style. The characters Saffy and Amanda have grown on me.
Improv Everywhere. Improv Everywhere causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places and has executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents. It's like Just for Laughs on a one-time-per-prank-only and a grand scale. My favorites: frozen Grand Central, spontaneous musicals, no pants subway ride, human mirror, suicide jumper, best game ever and romantic comedy cab. Check them all out, they're hilarious and the last two are even touching.
PostSecret. An ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard and select secrets are posted online or in books and museums. A gallery of postcard-sized images posted anonymously to unveil a secret. Shared confessions in art form.
6BillionSecrets. It's like PostSecret in GivesMeHope style. Best entries here.
Shockwave and Popcap. The ultimate destinations for free online games, free downloadable games, and more. My top picks are Bounce Out, Zuma, Text Twist, Bookworm and Feeding Frenzy.
Michelle Phan. YouTube tutorials on how to apply makeup are very helpful, but hers are the most aesthetically pleasing. Unlike the others out there that are just vlogs that have the author videotaping herself while she puts on makeup and talks at the same time, Michelle's videos are a work of art with voiceover, music, and artful introductions and transitions. No wonder her videos have millions of views. Check out her entertaining tutorial on how to transform into Sailormoon.
HyperboleandaHalf. She writes hilarious stories accompanied by equally hilarious illustrations. If you're looking for laughter and entertainment, this is the place to be.
DamnYouAutocorrect. If you have a mobile device you know how annoying the Auto Correct feature can be. It changes words without rhyme or reason, and if you’re chatting with someone and hit “send” too quickly, it can really lead to some funny results. This site is dedicated to all the embarrassing, questionable, hilarious, and just plain WTF auto correct moments.
And of course, there are the blogs on my sidebar.
What great sites do you frequent? Let me know!
